    Sad news.

ESPN - Says Everett "likely to be paralyzed"

News like this is hard to take, regardless who the individual is!

    How so? Know him personally?

It's the NFL. As I've said a thousand times before, it is amazing that this sort of injury doesn't happen every week.

They know what they're getting into.

Watch Bob Costas' interview with Earl Campbell. The once unstoppable back is but a shell of his former self. He can't even walk. Costas asked him in a roundabout way if it was worth it. Campbell, smiling, replied in the positive.

Is it a tragic accident? Sure. But it is also to be expected.

    Re: Kevin Everett

    how so?

while part of the game is injuries......this is beyond the normal scope of what happens normally

so says its to be "expected" or "they know what they are getting into" is beyond idiotic

this isnt the kind of thing thats to "be expected"

thats like saying if you are on a plane that crashes......."its to be expected" or "you knew what you were getting into"

is it a possibility? sure.......expected? not in the least

    Re: Kevin Everett

Career ending injuries are to be expected. As are plane crashes.

Jump on a plane, a crash is always a possibility. Play football, it is possible that you're going to be injured.
